Biography
Dr. Matthew Goldberg is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. Prior to joining Castle, Dr. Goldberg was an Assistant Professor in Dermatology and Pathology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and retains his affiliation as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology. Prior to joining the Mount Sinai faculty, he directed Dermatopathology education for the MedStar Georgetown Washington Hospital Center dermatology residency program. Dr. Goldberg has a background in translational melanoma research and received the Dermatology Foundation Dermatopathology Research Career Development Award for research in melanoma epigenetics.

Spatialomics provide robust data to interrogate multiple pathways of disease progression simultaneously. Using AI to interpret these pathways can unlock new understanding that has the potential to profoundly improve patient management. This talk will explore how synergies between AI and spatialomics have been validated to predict progression to esophageal cancer in Barretts esophagus patients.

Within industry, Joe has held Commercial leadership roles at TrialSpark and Tempus, where he developed and expanded strategic partnerships with pharma and biotech organizations across RD, Commercial, and Med Affairs organizations. Joe has worked across multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology (drugs, diagnostics, services), neuroscience (psychiatry, neurocognition, neuroinflammation, imaging), immunology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular metabolic, as well as rare diseases.

Dr. Langlotz is Professor of Radiology, Medicine, and Biomedical Data Science, and Senior Associate Vice Provost for Research at Stanford University. He also serves as Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging (AIMI Center), which comprises over 150 faculty at Stanford who conduct interdisciplinary machine learning research to promote health. Dr. Langlotzs laboratory develops machine learning methods to detect disease and eliminate diagnostic errors. He has led many national and international efforts to improve medical imaging, including the RadLex terminology standard and the Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC), a U.S. national imaging research resource.

He also co-leads Workforce Strategy for the enterprise.Prior to UW Health , he worked at BJC Healthcare in St. Louis, where he served in a variety of leadership roles including Vice President for Business Relationship Management to deliver maximum value through technical and digital initiatives, co-led an enterprise-wide EMR initiative and led IT strategic planning for St. Louis Childrens Hospital. He has also worked in various other industries including finance, telecom and transportation.Chero received his dual masters degrees from Webster University and is an alumni of Columbia University, New York.

Dr. Kim is an international leader in lung cancer having published over 200 peer-reviewed articles in top tier journals. He has previously served as an associate tenured professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Chair of Solid Tumor Oncology at Levine Cancer Institute, Atrium Health, and obtained his MBA at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler School of Business, Chapel Hill, NC.

He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of imaging informatics and drives the development of advanced enterprise imaging solutions that integrate imaging data into clinical and research workflows. A novel lossless wavelet-based image distribution mechanism, dynamic transfer syntax (DTS), was co-invented by Dr. Chang, and enabled the development of one of the worlds first viable enterprise image distribution solutions and was a significant contributor to the generalized adoption of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) within healthcare. His leadership in developing Stentor PACS, later acquired by Philips, was instrumental in transitioning radiology from film to digital imaging, laying the groundwork for integrating AI and data science into radiology. His ongoing work in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into radiology workflows is significant in advancing precision medicine, improving diagnostic accuracy, and enabling timely patient interventions.

He leads the global bioinformatics track in ZSs Medical and Scientific Expertise Center as well as a ZS Discovery expertise group focused on developing scalable, portable, and reproducible bioinformatic workflows. Drawing upon his academic insights and professional journey, he is a member of ZSs advanced degree council, which provides professional guidance for ZSers with doctoral degrees.Brice has over 15 years of experience leveraging a variety of genetic and omics data from humans and other species to answer scientific questions in academia, biotech and pharma. He has consistently collaborated with cross-functional teams, using his scientific expertise in genomics, population genetics and phylogenetics to provide end-to-end perspectives on designing, implementing, and interpreting scientific analyses in the fields of computational biology, bioinformatics, and systematics.

William (Bill) Mayo leads a team of engineers and research domain experts accelerating the pace of scientific discovery and drug development at BMS. His passion can best be captured as "Let's Solve Biology" and in the belief that Biology is Computation. His team's work is based on the insight that understanding Causal Human Biology is the most demanding data and computation problem of our generation and critical to accelerating the treatment of serious diseases. Bill has been applying tech in the life sciences for 15 years, including as the CIO the the Broad Institute for several years and with Biogen in the early 2010's. Prior to that Bill spent 20+ years in the Consumer Products industry (Gillette, Procter Gamble). He is a (mostly) lifelong resident of Boston.

Lucia Savage is a nationally-recognized thought leader on using HIPAA to advance digital health while protecting privacy. She drives Omada Healths continued commitment to advancing digital health, including the safe, secure, and effective handling of participants personal health information. Prior to joining Omada, she served the Obama Administration as Chief Privacy Officer at the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. She first implemented HIPAA for Stanford University in 2000, and later oversaw the HIPAA compliance and data strategy for Californias pre-ACA health insurance exchange, PacAdvantage, where she served as General Counsel. Lucia has a B.A. with Honor from Mills College and received her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from New York University School of Law.

Sharmila Majumdar, Ph.D., obtained her Ph.D. degree from Yale University inEngineering and Applied Sciences. After a short stay at Yale she joinedUCSF as an Assistant Professor in 1989. Her research on machine and deeplearning has a focus on imaging; prior work has focused on imagingtechnology development and translational, development of image processing,computer vision has been focused in the areas of osteoporosis,osteoarthritis, and lower back pain. She is the Executive and ScientificDirector of the Center for Intelligent Imaging at UCSF. She was selected asa fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineers in2004, a fellow of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance inMedicine (ISMRM) in 2008, and awarded the ISMRM Gold medal in 2016. She isan active participant in the PMWC meetings. Her work over the last threedecades has been extensively supported by the NIH and industry.

At the MGB AI Office, she focuses on integrating AI technologies into clinical practice to enhance medical imaging workflows. A pioneer in designing and implementing Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Dr. Andriole's research has transformed how digital imaging data is stored, shared, and utilized. She is also deeply involved in educating the next generation of radiologists, ensuring they are prepared to incorporate AI and machine learning into their practice. Dr. Andriole holds leadership roles with prominent radiological societies, including RSNA and SIIM, and has received multiple awards, such as the RSNA Gold Medal, RSNA Honored Educator Award, the SIIM Gold Medal, and the RADxx Trailblazer Award for leadership in imaging informatics.

Dr. Eliot Siegel is a renowned radiologist and innovator in the fields of medical imaging and informatics. He is Professor of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School, where he leads groundbreaking research in artificial intelligence (AI) applications in radiology. He currently serves as founder and of United Theranostics, a national Nuclear Medicine practice specializing in radiopharmaceutical therapy for clinical trials and patient care. He created the National Cancer Imaging Archive as lead for the caBIG medical imaging program, served as Chair of the SPIE Medical Imaging conference and currently co-chairs a national conference on Machine Intelligence in Medical Imaging. Dr. Siegel developed and implemented the worlds first Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). His work bridges clinical practice, cutting-edge research, and informatics, making significant contributions to healthcare systems and academic institutions. His leadership in medical imaging has earned him recognition at both national and international levels.

Seth Hain, Senior Vice President of RD at Epic, focuses on advancing the use of artificial intelligence and analytics across healthcare to improve care and increase efficiency. During his 19 years at Epic, Seth has worked on enhancing the core analytics and AI technologies in Epics platforms and their applications across the clinical domain. While at Epic, he has also headed the system and performance team, with a focus on database performance and architecture. A native of Seward, Nebraska, he received a BS in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska and an MS in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin. Seth currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife, two children and dog.

Misha Mehta was building a 15-year career as a leader in microbiology, molecular biology, and pharmaceuticals when her 5-year-old son, Neev, was diagnosed with DIPG in 2020. Neevs brave fight, which he lost in Nov. 2021, exposed Misha and her family to the worlds of patient advocacy and clinical trial navigation and helped them recognize the lack of federal attention and resources for curing rare pediatric diseases. Misha has spent the last two years as a devoted advocate for increased funding and research to address pediatric diseases and as a liaison to industry and regulatory agencies. In her work, which includes clinical trial design and building accessibility to pre-FDA-approved drugs, she has spoken with influential audiences including the U.S. Congress, the DoD, and Cancer Moonshot-Brain Cancer Forum. Misha currently serves as the President of the Neev Kolte Brave Ronil Foundation, and continues to fight for a world in which no disease remains incurable

Dr. Omar Perez has over 17 years designing, deploying, and leading high-visibility oncology initiatives supporting global companion diagnostic developments, strategic partnerships and commercialization opportunities. Before joining AstraZeneca, he oversaw the global CDx developments for the GSK oncology portfolio, leading to diagnostic products for niraparib and dostarlimab. During his time at Pfizer, he led global CDx activities supporting the drug approvals of crizotinib, lorlatinib, dacomitinib talazoparib and inotuzomab. Notably, he led the first FDA approved NGS product for multiple targeted agents and helped establish the Center for Precision Medicine in LATAM to support Pfizer oncology products. Dr. Perezs background includes roles in biotech and diagnostic companies, including co-founding Nodality, a diagnostic company focused on hematological malignancies. He is an inventor of the multiparametric phospho-proteomic flow technologies and an author of 37 publications and 35 patents.

Karlo is a patient advocate and pioneer in bringing access to personalized medicines to global markets. He works directly with pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic manufacturers in supporting product development and access. Starting his career in the clinic, Karlo was a cytogeneticist diagnosing constitutional chromosomal abnormalities and neoplastic diseases. Getting a front row seat of pairing someones genetic profile and seeing how they responded to treatment drove Karlo into industry to learn more about personalized medicine. His goal is to not only bring innovative treatments to the market but also focus on providing routes of access that are patient outcome centric by championing personalized medicine.

Sam Sinai, PhD, is a co-founder and head of machine learning at Dyno Therapeutics, a gene therapy company founded in 2018 and based in Watertown, MA. Dyno is a pioneer in solving some of the most challenging problems in gene therapy using artificial intelligence. Sam has developed the underpinnings of the AI algorithms that Dyno uses to design therapeutic proteins. Before Dyno, Sam received his PhD in Biology from Harvard in 2019, supervised by scientists Martin Nowak and George Church. There he invented multiple novel generative AI approaches for protein design. Sam is a co-author on more than 20 scientific publications including in leading AI and biology venues and holds co-inventorship on several patents. He has also written publicly on issues concerning science, medicine, and immigration in general publications such as Slate, Forbes, and Quartz. Sam received his B.S. and M. Eng. in computer science from MIT.

Durand MD, MBA is Chief Medical Officer and President at Prenuvo, the worlds largest and most advanced network of clinics dedicated exclusively to proactive whole-body MRI for early disease detection and precision medicine. Dan leads the clinical and operational staff within Prenuvo Clinics, oversees the clinical research team, and serves as President of the Prenuvo Medical Group. Before joining Prenuvo, Dr. Durand held various leadership roles at LifeBridge Health, including enterprise Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Innovation Officer, and system-wide Chair of Radiology. Prior to joining LifeBridge, Dan held leadership roles with Johns Hopkins Medicine and Evolent Health, and earlier in his career he worked as a consultant with McKinsey Company out of the firm's DC office.

The emerging field of proactive whole body MRI and AI is reshaping our understanding of human health. By defining novel biomarkers that define "healthy" imaging, we will increasingly be able to distinguish between normal and pathological aging and determine the impact of various interventions intended to preserve aging outcomes.

Angel Alberich-Bayarris has 15 years of experience in the field of medical imaging and computer vision, he possesses deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in diagnostics and drug development. He has worked in the development of several algorithms for Imaging Biomarkers analysis that promoted the creation of the company QUIBIM (Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers in Medicine), focused in the creation of a platform for the analysis of Imaging Biomarkers. He is a member of the board of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EUSOMII) and of the e-Health and Informatics Subcommittee of the European Society of Radiology (ESR). Alberich-Bayarri is the author of more than 100 articles in prestigious international journals, author of 20 book chapters and editor of 2 books. He received the MIT Innovators Under 35 award in 2015.

this lecture will explore the critical needs for advancing standard-of-care imaging and how AI is enabling new capabilities in patient stratification and the development of prognostic and predictive tools. We will show how MRI, CT, and PET imaging can be elevated thanks to AI to extract actionable insights for better patient stratification and precision diagnostics.

Sam Perli is an AI and bioengineering pioneer, serving as Chief Scientific Officer and founding member of Thinkhat, where he develops next-generation technologies to address human disease. His extensive academic background includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the Gladstone Institutes and UCSF, where he collaborated with Prof. Shinya Yamanaka on computational and molecular tools for dissecting and engineering biology, as well as advancing applications of pluripotent stem cells.Sam earned his PhD at MIT, working with Prof. Timothy Lu on transformative bioengineering projects. Prior to his doctoral work, he completed a Masters in Computer Science at MIT as a Presidential Fellow, working with Prof. Dina Katabi. His academic journey began at IIT Madras, where he received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and was honored with the Institute Medal for the best academic record in the department.

As CEO of the Mount Sinai Respiratory Institute, he has spearheaded efforts to advance the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory illnesses and lung diseases, including lung cancer.Dr. Powell specializes in lung cancer risk assessment and early diagnosis, with a focus on lung nodules and thoracic oncology. Stacie, a former pharma and biotech leader, recently joined NVIDIA to further enable AI adoption across Healthcare and Life Sciences. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the Alliance for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AAIH). In her 13+ years at GSK, she led RD initiatives and co-founded the ATOM consortium. More recently, she held leadership roles at AI Drug Discovery startups Atomwise, where she was a VP of Partnerships, and BioSymetrics, here she was the Chief Strategy Officer. Stacie holds a B.S. in Chemistry from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from UC Irvine.
