Biography
Dr. Charles Powell, M.D., is a globally recognized leader in respiratory medicine and thoracic oncology. As CEO of the Mount Sinai Respiratory Institute, he has spearheaded efforts to advance the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory illnesses and lung diseases, including lung cancer.Dr. Powell specializes in lung cancer risk assessment and early diagnosis, with a focus on lung nodules and thoracic oncology. He was the founding chair of the American Thoracic Society Assembly on Thoracic Oncology and is widely known for his leadership in the Fleischner Society and the International Society of Respiratory Disease, where he has driven advancements in imaging, diagnosis, and care.He remains dedicated to patient care, providing expert consultation on complex lung cancer cases, and is a prolific contributor to research and global discussions on improving outcomes for respiratory diseases.
