Matthew Solomon

Biography
Matthew D. Solomon, MD, PhD, FACC, is Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Sutter Health, where he leads research and data-driven initiatives to improve patient care. An internationally recognized cardiologist and physician-scientist, he previously served at Kaiser Permanente as a physician-researcher and clinical leader. His work leverages real-world clinical data, artificial intelligence, and predictive analytics to advance cardiovascular care and population health. He also practices at California Pacific Medical Center and is helping develop Sutter's systemwide aortic disease care program. Dr. Solomon earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, his medical degree from UCLA, and his PhD in health policy and health economics through RAND/UCLA. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Stanford University.
