Biography
Sergio Barberan-Soler is a molecular biologist and entrepreneur whose work at RealSeq Biosciences centers on advancing next-generation RNA sequencing technologies. His research focuses on leveraging RNA fragmentomics to unlock new diagnostic capabilities and overcome the sensitivity limitations of standard liquid biopsies.
At PMWC 2027, he is introducing a novel platform capable of detecting the complete profile of RNA fragments in a liquid biopsy, utilizing molecular signals that have never been harnessed before. Drawing on extensive research experience at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the Centre for Genomic Regulation, his work translates complex small RNA sequencing into practical clinical tools. His upcoming presentation features first-of-its-kind proof-of-concept data spanning hundreds of healthy individuals alongside advanced cancer patients, demonstrating how capturing these previously overlooked RNA fragments can transform the future of non-invasive diagnostics.
