Biography
Sam Hanash is a physician-scientist and internationally recognized leader in cancer proteomics, biomarker discovery, and early cancer detection. He was the inaugural president of the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO) and has played a major role in advancing proteomics as a tool for understanding cancer biology and identifying clinically useful biomarkers.
At The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Hanash is Professor of Clinical Cancer Prevention and Molecular Pathology, Director of the McCombs Institute for the Early Detection and Treatment of Cancer, Co-Director of the Center for Global Cancer Early Detection, and holder of the Rubenstein Distinguished Chair.
