Biography
Ilan “Lanny” Kirsch, MD, is Distinguished Physician-Scientist in Translational Medicine at Adaptive Biotechnologies, where his work focuses on advancing immune-based diagnostics and measurable residual disease (MRD) testing in hematologic cancers.
Dr. Kirsch previously served as Senior Vice President of Translational Medicine at Adaptive. Before joining the company in 2012, he was Executive Director of Oncology Research at Amgen and spent more than 20 years at the National Cancer Institute, ultimately serving as Chief of the Genetics Branch within its Center for Cancer Research.
A pediatric hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Kirsch earned his MD from Harvard Medical School, completed residency training at Boston Children's Hospital, and pursued fellowships in pediatric hematology-oncology and molecular genetics. His research has contributed to advances in cancer genetics, immunosequencing, and precision monitoring of treatment response.
