Speaker Profile
Biography
Justin Eyquem develops next-generation immune cell therapies for cancer and other diseases. He pioneered genome-engineering strategies to precisely reprogram T cells, including approaches that improve CAR-T cell function and enable therapeutic T cells to be engineered directly inside the body. His research spans fundamental discoveries in T-cell biology through preclinical development and clinical translation, with the goal of making engineered cell therapies more potent, precise, and accessible. At UCSF, he leads efforts to design and advance new gene-edited cell therapies into clinical trials and has contributed to innovations that facilitate their manufacturing. His work has been recognized with the Parker Fellow Award, the ASGCT Outstanding New Investigator Award, the Pew-Stewart Award for Cancer Research, and the Cancer Research Institute Lloyd J. Old STAR Award.
