Biography
Greg Brockman is the Co-Founder and President of OpenAI, where he has helped guide the organization from its inception in 2015 into one of the most influential forces in artificial intelligence. A hands-on engineer and strategist, he played a central role in developing OpenAI’s flagship technologies, from large language models like GPT to multimodal systems now deployed across research, industry, and healthcare. Before OpenAI, Brockman was the Chief Technology Officer of Stripe, where he built and scaled the company’s engineering organization during its rapid global growth. A North Dakota native, he studied mathematics and computer science at Harvard and MIT before leaving to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. Known for his rigorous work ethic and technical depth, Brockman emphasizes “technical humility” as a core value—an approach he believes is essential for building safe and broadly beneficial AI. Today, he continues to shape OpenAI’s mission to ensure that artificial general intelligence serves humanity, balancing bold innovation with responsibility at the highest levels of technology and policy.
