Craig Mundie

Biography
Craig Mundie is a distinguished technology executive who advises organizations and governments on emerging technologies and their implications for society and policy, including artificial intelligence, fusion energy, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and molecular medicine. During his 22 years at Microsoft, Mundie served as Chief Technical Officer, Chief Research and Strategy Officer, and Senior Advisor to the CEO, shaping the company’s technology strategy and research. He continues to advise Microsoft on strategic initiatives. Mundie served for 10 years on the U.S. National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, advising three presidential administrations on technology and national security, and for eight years on President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). A leading voice on responsible technology development and global technology policy, he co-authored Genesis: Artificial Intelligence, Hope, and the Human Spirit with Henry Kissinger and Eric Schmidt. He currently co-chairs a Track II dialogue with China on artificial intelligence.
