Biography
Christoph Correll, M.D., is Chief Medical Officer of MedLink Global and a Professor of Psychiatry at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, with an additional professorship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Charité University Medicine Berlin. He is a clinician-researcher whose work focuses on severe mental illness across the lifespan, particularly schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and related conditions. His research spans clinical trials, comparative effectiveness, psychopharmacology, meta-analysis, epidemiology, and the interaction between psychiatric illness, treatment, and physical health. Dr. Correll has published extensively on treatment selection, early intervention, adverse effects, cardiometabolic risk, and strategies to improve long-term outcomes for people receiving antipsychotic and other psychiatric medications. He completed medical studies in Berlin and Dundee and trained in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. His work emphasizes evidence-based personalization of psychiatric care, including balancing efficacy, tolerability, comorbid medical risk, adherence, and patient priorities when choosing and monitoring treatment.
