Biography
Blerina Shkodra, PhD, is Chief Scientific Officer at LEON Nanodrugs, where she leads scientific strategy, research and development, and the advancement of scalable nanoparticle manufacturing technologies.
Since joining LEON in 2022, she has advanced formulation science, process optimization, and technology transfer for lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and other drug delivery systems, supporting applications in RNA therapeutics, cancer vaccines, and cell and gene therapies.
Previously, she worked at CureVac on mRNA-LNP vaccine development, contributing to process characterization, GMP readiness, and technology transfer.
Dr. Shkodra holds a PhD in Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery from Friedrich Schiller University Jena and master's degrees from the University of Greenwich and Charles University. Her work focuses on translating innovative nanomedicines into reproducible, scalable manufacturing processes.
