Biography
Anu Osinusi, M.D., is Vice President of Clinical Development in Virology at Gilead Sciences, with leadership responsibilities spanning hepatitis, respiratory infections, COVID-19, and emerging viruses. An infectious disease physician by training, she has built her career around translating antiviral science into therapies that can address major global health burdens. Her work has included clinical development programs in hepatitis B, hepatitis C, hepatitis D, and emerging viral diseases, with an emphasis on evidence generation across diverse patient populations and settings. Dr. Osinusi’s interest in viral hepatitis was shaped by her medical training and early experience in Nigeria, where the burden of infectious disease highlighted the need for more effective prevention and treatment. At Gilead, she works across clinical research, regulatory strategy, safety, and external scientific partnerships to move antiviral programs through development. She also contributes to rapid-response efforts when new viral threats emerge, bringing together drug-development capabilities and public-health priorities.
