Biography
Steven Wang is a Postdoctoral Medical Fellow in Oncology at Stanford University in the laboratory of Ash Alizadeh. His research focuses on precision approaches to lymphoma and on the use of circulating tumor DNA and minimal residual disease, or MRD, as tools for measuring treatment response and anticipating relapse. Within the Alizadeh group, he works in a research environment that combines tumor genomics, liquid biopsy, computational analysis, and clinically annotated patient cohorts to develop biomarkers that can complement or outperform conventional imaging. Dr. Wang has contributed to work examining how MRD could be developed and validated as an earlier endpoint in lymphoma drug development, including the evidentiary steps needed for regulatory and clinical acceptance. His interests center on translating quantitative molecular measurements into practical decisions about risk, treatment intensity, and clinical-trial design. By linking biomarker kinetics with outcomes, his work aims to help make lymphoma therapy more adaptive, informative, and responsive to each patient’s disease trajectory.
