Biography
Sean Gibbons studies how the ecology and evolution of the human gut microbiome influence health. His group combines microbial experiments, multiomics, machine learning and metabolic modeling to understand why individuals respond differently to diet and other interventions. The lab develops computational models of microbial communities and the My Digital Gut platform to support personalized nutrition and microbiome-informed approaches to health. His work connects microbial community structure and function with host physiology and precision medicine.
