Biography
Dr. Mackenzie founded the BioIT company Epimethyl Analytics in 2024 for commercial application of a unique DNA methylation decoding system in early stage disease diagnostics. The Epimethyl platform achieves highly accurate detection of several diseases, with cancer as current focus. Originating in Mackenzie's academic lab, the system has been extensively tested and validated in a model system, and data are being readied for FDA clinical trials. Dr. Mackenzie was previously the Lloyd and Dottie Huck Chair for Functional Genomics at Penn State University (2017-24), Ralph and Alice Raikes Distinguished Chair at the University of Nebraska (2000-17), and Professor of Genetics at Purdue University (1988-2000)
