Biography
Dr. Au has prioritized accelerating science as an imperative to meet the data needs for an AI reality. With multi-sector collaborators, she has been constructing an end-to-end solution that includes a digital engagement platform (e.g., “Facebook for brain health”) and in partnership with the Global Research and Imaging Platform (GRIP) has helped develop a license-free, white labeled smartphone application that can collect brain related data in any language. On the back end, she is working on implementing new approaches to data access, digital data processing and analysis that meets FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data principles. Her own immediate research objectives are to develop and validate globally feasible screening and monitoring tools for Alzheimer’s disease and other brain related disorders and to redefine and generate multi-sensor digital biomarkers. Her longer-term strategic vision is to shift the focus on brain related disorders to a broader emphasis on brain health.
