Biography
Poornima’s current work focuses on making patient-first, N-of-1 cancer care work at scale, bringing a technology-and-systems lens to the fragmentation patients face across data, diagnostics, institutions, and treatment options. Earlier, she developed methods for large-scale sequencing at Stanford and received an NIAID Career Development Award. She later cofounded Trace Genomics and ultimately led it as CEO through acquisition. Trace helped pioneer commercial soil genomics by combining DNA sequencing, machine learning, and agronomic data, and was named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. After being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, Poornima turned that same systems-building approach toward cancer care: building models that can organize increasingly personalized technologies around individual patients, at scale.

Future Cancer Care Today
Future of Cancer Care Today (FCCT) is a nonprofit helping cancer patients identify and understand more options, including beyond standard of care. FCCT is building a patient-first model for bringing advanced diagnostics, trials, and emerging therapies together around each patient, and making that model scalable.
Session Abstract – PMWC 2027 Silicon Valley
The PMWC 2027 Non-Clinical Services Showcase will provide a 15-30 min speaking opportunity for selected companies working with the latest technologies in nucleic acid sequencing such as NGS, providing instrumentation for genomic sequencing, and offering direct to consumer services. These companies will share their innovative products and services to an audience of leading investors, potential clients and partners. The Genomic Profiling Showcase will exhibit the latest innovations in methods and instruments used for DNA/ RNA sequencing to ascertain the genomic and transcriptional profile of a person in order to understand why some people get certain diseases while others do not, or why people react in different ways to the same drug. This information is also being used to develop new ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases, such as cancer.
