Dr. Latha Palaniappan is a globally recognized physician, researcher, and educator specializing in precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, and preventive cardiology. As a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, her work focuses on advancing personalized approaches to healthcare, particularly in optimizing treatments for chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.Dr. Palaniappan served as a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Australia in 2022-2023, where she collaborated with leading institutions to implement precision medicine strategies, integrating genomic research into clinical practice and enhancing healthcare delivery systems.Dr. Palaniappan has authored over 260 peer-reviewed publications, and serves as an editor for the Journal of Personalized Medicine, making significant contributions to the practical application of genomic science in medicine. She is a leading advocate for integrating pharmacogenomics (PGx) into routine care, addressing barriers such as cost, insurance coverage, and provider education.At PMWC 2025, Dr. Palaniappan will discuss challenges in implementing pharmacogenomics and strategies to accelerate its adoption.
