Speaker Profile
Biography
Dr. Deutsch is an internationally recognized pathologist and physician-scientist whose research focuses on tissue-based biomarker discovery and implementation to support personalized cancer care. She has played a key role in the development and standardization of pan-tumor pathologic response criteria for patients treated with neoadjuvant and perioperative therapies, work that has important implications as these approaches are increasingly adopted in clinical trials and routine care. Her research integrates digital pathology, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to enable robust pathology-based assessments that provide prognostic information and help clinicians make personalized treatment decisions. Dr. Deutsch is the recipient of the 2025 Benjamin Castleman Award from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
