Biography
Daniel Huddleston is a neurologist, physician-scientist, and entrepreneur focused on translating advanced neuroimaging biomarkers into tools for precision medicine in Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. He founded Lightbox Science to develop and deploy scalable MRI-based biomarkers for clinical trials and clinical care, with the goal of improving diagnosis, patient stratification, disease monitoring, and therapeutic development. His academic research at Emory University spans Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and prodromal synucleinopathies, integrating advanced MRI and multimodal imaging measures of neuromelanin, brain iron, and other tissue characteristics relevant to neurodegeneration. His work emphasizes rigorous biomarker validation, multi-site implementation, and translation from research settings into broadly accessible clinical tools. He also provides clinical care in movement disorders and has led collaborative neuroimaging studies across the spectrum of parkinsonian disease.
