Biography
Dan Edelstein is Vice President and General Manager of Haystack Oncology at Quest Diagnostics, where he leads the development and commercialization of highly sensitive circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) testing for minimal residual disease (MRD). Dan co-founded Haystack Oncology in 2021, serving as CEO and continuing to lead the business following its acquisition by Quest Diagnostics in 2023.
Dan has more than 15 years of experience developing and translating ctDNA technologies into clinical diagnostics. He began his career at Johns Hopkins, working alongside pioneers in cancer genomics and liquid biopsy to translate early discoveries in ctDNA into clinical applications. In 2011, he led the development of one of the first CLIA laboratories dedicated to ctDNA analysis. His work has since spanned technology development, clinical evidence generation, commercialization, reimbursement, and biopharma partnerships.
