Biography
Dr. Alison Paquette is an assistant professor at the Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CDBRM) at Seattle Childrens Research Institute and is affiliated with the University of Washington Department of Pediatrics. Her research centers on the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHAD) paradigm, focusing on how prenatal environments shape lifelong health. A trainee of the renowned Dr. Lee Hood, she examines molecular mechanisms linking the in-utero environment to birth outcomes, particularly analyzing multi-omic data in the placenta. Dr. Paquette's work investigates how prenatal exposure to environmental chemicals impacts fetal growth and spontaneous preterm birth, with a focus on endocrine disrupting chemicals. She was recently recognized for this work by receiving an Outstanding New Environmental Scientist (ONES) award from the National Institute for Environmental Health in 2023.
