Session: Current and Desired State: The Patient Experience in Pharmacogenetics
The PGx experience has remained largely unchanged for patients and providers for 20 years. Isolated or limited-use testing, static reports, poor understanding, and a one-order to one-report approach has held us back from realizing the promise of clinical genetics to improve access and reduce disparities in healthcare. We will discuss a democratized ecosystem for personalized medicine that will increase access to testing, awareness, education, EHR integration, portability, and pharmacist services.
